The Gateway Center West Project Area is composed of a variety of land uses including 19% public right-of-way land; 7% residential properties; 42% various industrial uses; 27% owned by San Diego Gas and Electric; 2% open space; and 3% vacant land.
General Project Area Information:
SEDC’s Gateway Center West Redevelopment Project Area was originally known as the Dells Redevelopment Project Area when it was adopted in 1976. The Project Area encompasses approximately 59 acres in the southeastern area of the city of San Diego. It is bound on the west by 32nd Street, by Highway 15 to the east, to the south by Market Street and to the north by Martin Luther King Jr. Freeway (Highway 94).
